Throughout the region there are developments, neighborhoods, even entire townships that have been planted with thousands upon thousands of trees that will never reach maturity or yield a portion of their full potential at the cost of many millions of dollars. We hope these specifications can serve as a guide to quality control and the successful establishment of urban forests that will yield greater and greater value and benefits with the passage of time. This publication is intended to be used by township officials, public works departments, shade tree committees, homeowner associations, developers, planners or anyone else who may have a sizable tree planting project.
